Dr Ahmed is a herbal doctor, respected within the community and internationally. We have built a herbal school in his newly renovated mountain garden. The school will provide a venue for teaching and the garden will be used for the growth of indigenous medicinal herbs.
Purpose:
To create a sustainable economy around traditional Bedouin gardens
To increase the volume of herbal produce to the herb and fruit drying centres
To bring awareness of medicinal herbal properties through teaching
To encourage eco-tourism.
Beneficiaries:
Students of herbal medicine and Bedouin employed in the production, packaging and sale of herbs.

Medicinal Herbs, GEF (Global Environmental Facilities) and Dr Ahmed, supported by an SSRDP grant and Mahmoud Mansur’s Herb and Fruit drying centre.
