Description:

Fox Camp Museum is a small stone-built museum belonging to Faraj Mahmoud, who has collected most of the artefacts himself. These are objects which have been used by the Jebelia Bedouin over the past century. It is the only museum of its kind to record the Jebelia tradition and local people have now become interested and are helping to contribute.

Purpose:

To promote the region’s historical and cultural heritage through greater understanding and appreciation of it by both visitors and local people

To support a local entrepreneur

Beneficiaries:

Visitors to St Katherine's and local Bedouin.

Project Work:

Project work has assisted Faraj with the identification and cataloguing of the museum display.

Status:

The work is on-going; a long-term plan is to computerise the catalogue.

Completion:
